Gerhard Richter at Centre Pompidou, not to be missed!

» I do not obey any intentions, system or trend; I have no programme, style or pretention. I love uncertainty, infinity an permanent insecurity. »

This quote from Gerhard Richter sums up very well his artistic trajectoire which remains unclassifiable: from photo-paintings to abstractions, grisaille and ink to colour charts, this major contemporary artist has really explored infinite possibilities. His reinterpretation of the greatest genres of history of art ( landscape, portraits…)  is to my opinion the more interesting part of the exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris which covers up his timeline from the early 1960 onwards with about 150 of his works. A smaller exhibition focusing on his drawings and watercolours work is also to be seen at the Louvre Museum.

The Pompidou Panorama exhibition on Gerhard Richter is until September 24th 2012.
