Hot Spot in Barcelona: The Cotton House
Named in honor of the Cotton Textile Foundation that was once headquartered in the 19th-century Neoclassical building, Cotton House is a new 83-room, five-star boutique hotel in Barcelona’s lively Eixample district, in the heart of the Catalan city.
Unlike most of Barcelona’s recent sleek and modern hotels developments, the Cotton House feels instantly warm, timelessly elegant with something out of colonial gentleman’s club, a very interesting mix of contemporary and heritage . The refurbishment designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán took great care at preserving the original circa-1880 elements — parquet floors, embellished ceilings, wood paneling, the marble staircase combining the grace of the original building with modern artworks and bold colours.
A new hot spot not to be missed next time you’ll in Barcelona.
